New Navy Unmanned Acquisition Office Could Oversee up to 66 Programs, Consolidate 6 PEOs 24 November 2025

A new office consolidating the development and purchasing of autonomous systems into a single entity will be the Navy’s first effort under the new era of Pentagon acquisition, USNI News has learned.

The Portfolio Acquisition Executive Robotic Autonomous System (PAE RAS) will absorb the development of up to 66 programs across 18 different offices under a single acquisition professional that would report directly to the assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition (RDA).
