On 11 April 2025, RADM Chris Cavanaugh relieved RADM Rick Seif as the 45th commander of the Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet (SUBPAC). The ceremony was presided over by Adm. Steve Koehler, commander of U.S. Pacific Fleet.
