USS Newport News makes historic stop in Iceland 9 July 2025

The Los Angeles-class submarine USS Newport News (SSN 750) stopped in Iceland for the first time on July 9. The first-of-its-kind visit to the Nordic island nation came as the US and NATO allies look with increasing concern at the growing Russian military activity across the Arctic and High North.
